What is BMJ Best Practice?

BMJ Best Practice is an evidence-based Clinical Decision Making Support database with access to over 1,000 conditions.   Evidence is collated by 1,600 international expert authors with a team of over 2,500 peer reviewers with content updated daily. 

Additionally BMJ BP includes: 

  • Over 250 interactive medical calculators
  • Integrated links to Cochrane Clinical Answers
  • Links to NICE and other guideline producers
  • Images and procedural videos included for relevant conditions.

BMJ Best Practice App.

To register for access to BMJ Best Practice App follow the instructions below - please note this must be done on a Public Hospital computer:

  1. Go to http://bestpractice.bmj.com
  2. Follow the prompts to register for a ‘personal account’ 
  3. Logout of the profile after registration and sign in again (this allows the remote roaming to be activated before proceeding to download the app).
  4.  Visit your Apple or Google Play store and search for ‘BMJ Best Practice’.
  5. Select the app and when prompted, use your BMJ Best Practice ‘personal account’ details to sign in and download the content.
